And he doesn't get enough facetime in the media. Also too,(my little palin immitation) he's short, has big ears and reminds people of an elf. I find it endearing, but I think some people think things like fairies and elves are a little scary. I figure it's just them watching too many "Leprechaun" movies.
Grayson, is much better looking (and people do vote based on attractiveness- I think it's subconscious), but they do.

it's REALITY! Obama is a realist and cut a deal that will at least create some jobs, keep middle class people from going into poverty and not giving the lowest tax bracket a 50% increase in their taxes....NO MATTER WHAT OBAMA OR ANY DEM PRESIDENT WOULD DO THEY WOULD BE FACING A FILLUBUSTER and that's why there was no fight to be had....you can only fight when there is something to fight.

Go to LOC or senate.gov assuming Operation Payback hasn't taken them down, and look for every "Motion to Proceed" or "Cloture Motion" that failed. That was a filibuster. There's nothing "fake" about it.

14. What Nader said is " I'm telling people they need to find somebody." |
|
... He said Obama's decision to allow tax-cut extensions for the wealthy in the lame-duck deal betrays the progressives who supported his campaign in 2008 and called the president a "con man." "There will be a primary," Nader said. "Just a question of how prominent a person . This deal is the last straw."
"Obama's position has been that the liberal, progressive wing has nowhere to go, therefore they can't turn their back on the administration. But a challenge will hold his feet to the fire and signal that we do have somewhere to go."
The tax deal, a blow to progressives, has prompted media speculation about such a challenge, although no names have been aired. Outgoing Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.), one of the chamber's most reliably liberal voices, has said he's not interested.
"He keeps one step away from the liberal progressive grasp," Nader said, describing the mood among on the left. "He's always just one step ahead from them grabbing his neck."
Nader had harsh words for the president's approach to politics: "He has no fixed principles. He's opportunistic - he goes for expedience, like Clinton. Some call him temperamentally conflict-averse. If you want to be harsher, you say he has no prlnciples and he's opportunistic."
"He's a con man. I have no use for him," Nader said.

Including the Freedom of Information Act. The list is pretty astonishing. He was a very effective consumer advocate. I read a biography of him once, I was shocked by his early career. You would never know anything about it from the mainstream media. I think Chris Hedges wrote a piece on how the New York Times basically set out to make him ineffective in the late 70s and essentially did so.

|
Edited on Thu Dec-09-10 11:12 PM by Liberalynn
I do want a primary challenger. What I would like more is for Obama to withdraw his name from consideration as a nominee just like LBJ did.
Obama has no respect for a good portion of his party, he admits it. So why should he remain our representative? He burned too many bridges with this "STUNT" imho. He can run as the Republican nominee.
I know the convential wisdom is we can't win with a primary challenger, but IMHO we won't win with Obama anyway. Again JMHO.

|
Edited on Fri Dec-10-10 07:52 AM by Liberalynn
I believed he could win and that he could change things. I did not vote for him in the primaries true, but once he was the nominee I got on board, donated, and cheered for him as hard as anyone else. I was proud of him and proud he was our nominee. I cried tears of relief that he was in charge and planning on ending 8 insufferable years of Bush policies. I hung my flag out on the porch and sang Happy Days Are Here Again and America the Beautiful the day after the election.
Now that he IMHO is the one who has changed to fit Washington instead of changing Washingtion as he promised, however, and sided more with the Repulicans than he has with Democrats, I don't think it will be so easy for him. He has a record to run on now and that record IMHO will be the difference this time. Its what I am basing my opinion on but it's just my opinion. I am not asking you or anyone else to agree.
If as you believe he can win no matter what then he and those who still support him have nothing to fear from a primary challenger either then right?

It doesn't matter whether you said he couldn't win back then or not. It was pushed here on a daily basis then and it's being tried again now. It's was laughable and transparent then and it's laughable now.
Your if then logic won't work on me. There is no fear here. Only disappointment in the fact that people would rather see the party go down in flames to spite their face.

All I see thrown against him are baseless canards about his height, that he says he saw what he called a UFO, or that he's anti-abortion and gay rights when he is not.
Having a tall, good looking President sure hasn't turned out to be the answer for people so far.
