Stupak Was A Planned Distraction, And You Are All Falling For It. |
|
Edited on Wed Nov-11-09 03:39 PM by AllexxisF1
I will keep this short.
The Stupak Amendment was a last ditch Republican distraction in hopes of derailing the House Bill.
This in no way shape or form will end up in the final bill so why pray tell are you all fighting amongst each other and possibly ruining our chance, in our first year to bring the first step of real health care reform.
Stop falling for it and instead focus on what matters. Getting this pig through the Senate with a strong public option.
I am just so damn surprised that many here fell for it.

3. I totally think so, except a distraction by blue dog Dems. |

Rethugs did not have the power alone.

4. Even Boehner figured it out. |
|
That's why he was pressing Barney Frank for a personal guarantee it would be in the final bill.

6. except it was 40 Democrats who blackmailed Pelosi and said they would withold their support |
|
for the final bill unless it was in there. How is that a "Republican" plot?
If you said Blue Dog I would have agreed.

8. you beat me to posting this |
|
we shouldn't let it divide us. We just need to keep pushing and pressuring and letting the Senate know we are watching and will reward or punish them according to their actions here.

9. I figured it had to be something |
|
because my email wasn't blowing up. I expected to hear from alot of women's groups I subscribe to and nothing. Jane Hamsher sent an email that addressed the Stupak amendment but not with the anger I expected. I think the Democrats are trying to keep the drama going on knowing exactly what they intend to do. Maybe they just want more donations want us to stay involved. Just see what we like and what we hate. Everyday it's like they'll try something new. The Republicans want HCR stopped and we know that but what are the Dems up to each and every single day.

11. It was Blue Dog Democrats, not republicans. |
|
And we have learned from hard experience that our party is very willing to accept anti-choice compromises until we demand constantly that they don't. So, thank you for assuming that pro-choice people are just being hysterical, but we know a serious threat when we see one again.
If this amendment gets stripped out it will be because of pressure. So we are going to try to keep up the pressure.

12. Where's the "strong public option" in the House bill? |
|
There's something that's called a "public option," but if you and I can't access it, it's not public.

13. I think so as well. I think the new Republican plan is to build turmoil from within. |
|
Since outside turmoil with teabaggers, deathers, and birthers is met with ridicule. However, if you make sure to get the Dems from within riled up----the "so-called" base an push the meme "Obama can't maintain the support of his key voters."<---ie like from the words of fools like Chuck Todd. And you beat that in they make more leverage, than any other way, as I've stated. And if DU or DailyKos is an example...they're doing very well.

14. Setting fire to our barn would also be a distraction. |
|
Would you be smugly standing there telling us we were fools to try to put it out?
Your guess what will be in the final bill is handy, but not definitive.
