I'm afraid this abortion B/S is going to KILL health care |
|
If someone told me Democrats would be fighting over abortion in a bill I would tell them they were crazy. INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!

If it doesn't make any difference to current law, why did it have to go in?

Women's groups say federal subsidization of private policies and the public option isn't the same thing as federal funding.

5. From what pro-choice Dems. in Congress have been saying, most who voted for the Stupak amendment |
|
thought they were voting for a reinstatement of the Hyde amendment and after it's explained to those who voted for it, they'll be ok withOUT the Stupak amendment.

6. I thought that was the whole idea |

to kill it. Create a controversy where none exists. Include things in the certainty that nobody will vote in favor.

8. Sadly enough, without the Stupak Stupidity |
|
there probably wouldn't be any discussion of the OTHER reasons this bill sucks either.
Flush the whole fucking pile of shit, start over with HR 676, get a fucking CBO score, and then DARE anyone to make a reasonable argument against it.

9. some would kill healthcare reform in an attempt to subsidize abortion |
|
just let the status quo stand.
we can deal with abortion on its own.
let's get HCR passed now.

10. The Stupak amendment shouldn't be in there but it is, and now that it is, it shouldn't be allowed to |
|
singularly kill HCR. I hope it is removed by the Senate or in Conference but if some variation of it is still in the bill in an effort to get HCR passed, then it stays and Congress will need to address it in a separate action.

11. Cutting off our noses to spite our faces.. a Democratic Pasttime!! |
|
Evidently, many on DU think that if we can't have everything exactly as we want it.. it's better to draw a line in the sand and take nothing at all. Idiotic if you ask me.
As a women, i'll happily take my healthcare for everything else.. and figure out a way to pay for my own abortion in the very unlikely event that I'd need one.
Because paying for an abortion once in a lifetime certainly beats paying for a mamaogram, pap, and other routine tests that I KNOW I'm going to need every year.
But, I guess i'm just silly like that.

15. A "Triggered" Anti-Abortion healthcare bill -- Mmmmm....how we've come so far |
|
Edited on Thu Nov-12-09 07:11 AM by quantass
:sarcasm: -- It's too early to predict the final bill will end up being this way but if it does I am beginning to think it might be worth killing the bill for the sake of making things even clearer to the people that it is time to revolt and take to the streets since state leaders and the WH dont give a damn what you want.
