|
Someone is trying to tell me the military loved Bush so much more than they do Obama and that his approval rating with the military is dismal.
They said they seen it in military mags but don't have any links, and I couldn't find anything.

I have never seen crowds of our troops jubilant over a visit from Bush the way they are over a visit from Obama. So chalk it up as just another rightwing lie that is being spread around.

Friends of mine serving in the Army, Marines and the Navy don't paint him as very popular with most of the "rank and file". Media tends to say he is very highly regarded. Who to believe?

At least that's my impression (family/friends, etc).
I'd guess that it's both an "tough is better than smart" thing (among the grunts), a "defense spending" thing (among the leardership) and an "indoctrination" thing (between the two).

With the military to show he is deeply unpopular. In fact it shows just the opposite. However I have read some stuff from people with friends,family in the military that says he is not that popular. Usually I think in situations like this the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
