Whats the difference between the Presidents vocal opposition to gay civil rights and the blue dogs |
|
stance on many issues?
I have heard it said that Obama's characterization of marriage as being between a man and woman is just political reality. That he could not win election if he expressed his true feelings. Does that not make him a blue dog in a sense? A political realist that places election and re-election above principle?

I guess I'm a second class citizen because the president's religion says it must be so. When GWB did it, democrats were rightly upset - but when a Democrat - any Democrat, including the president, does it, it's all right.

2. But, would it be more hurtful if the President did support marriage, |
|
but was only opposing it in public due to prevailing opinions of the electorate?
