The posters on this site shouldn't take disagreements

personal. It's just a disagreement. I believe most duers agree on 90% of the issues, but there is that 10%; which drives some of us up the wall. Disagreement is healthy. We should be proud of ourselves for not thinking with one brain like the idiots on the free republic. I have no problems with any of you just disagreements.

We have to stop thinking that disagreements mean hatred toward each other or even for another politician. And getting unrecommended or recommended is less important to me then getting discussion going. Or maybe I am used to this as my parents are both conservatives and I have been practicing my political arguments since I was a teenager.

So although I try to not go there, sometimes it is required....
cause some folks appear to believe they are superior in everyway....
especially some of those who would call themselves "pure",
and would rather hang on to an idea than actually get something tangibly achieved.

Unfortunately, politics can become personal sometimes although it shouldn't, especially if you are one of those suffering because of some policy....then how could it not be personal? :shrug:

I took every pundits word about Obama personally, because even though I've always participated in politics, I finally felt like black people mattered to this country.

Some of us who don't have health care and are hoping for it, are excited something might actually get done and they could get themselves taken care of. I'm one of them. To see so many people downing on this bill for various reasons---most of which just seem more to do with their own ideals than the actuality of how it can affect people. I for one, would benefit and to me it's like they're voting against me, and people like me. And based on one of the threads on GD which asked for those who don't have health insurance. Hundreds of people on this board and their family members would be personally affected (positively) by this HCR. So when people get on a kick about this or that...I'm like, I got nothing and I have a genetic pre-existing condition. This does more than I asked for and a lot more for so many people. Dunno, I think in this one it's a bit hard for ME not to be personally attached. I try to stay as aloof as I can. Especially when things could just crumble around me. But when I see that there are some chances...just that hairsbreadth of change that's real---I grasp at it and I'm not cool with these people think one part they don't like means the other 95% is shit and just as though it's signing us all to death panels.

I don't even like the Stupak and don't see it's need. But the other 90-95% of this bill could do a lot of good.

For some the earth just started spinning in the direction. Others are breathing a sigh of relief and keeping their fingers crossed that much that is helpful in this bill survives the conference.

I for one was hoping for a lowering of the age of eligibility for medicare or at least a chance to buy in before 65 (maybe down to 55 or 62) but I can't find it in this bill (maybe after reconciliation) but I won't wish for the help that other people need to get thrown out just because my ox got gored.

I hope your help stays in the final bill and I hope that those that are disappointed today will continue to fight for what they believe is right and just rather than threaten, whine and insult those that happen to disagree.
