It would take 41 "no" votes by Dems. for the bill to fail, not 40.

Right? I kept hearing the Dems. can afford to lose 40 votes to have the necessary 218. But Politico keeps saying 40 Dems. voting "no" would kill the bill:

"With just hours remaining until an historic vote on a sweeping health-care reform measure Saturday evening, at least 34 Democrats have said they will vote against the bill as of 8:45 p.m., according to a POLITICO analysis.

Just six more “no” votes would be enough to sink the bill if Republicans maintain, as expected, a solid front of opposition. Still, Democratic sources are signaling that they have secured the majority of the caucus and expect to pass the bill tonight."

3. It seems we might have one Repub on our side though...but he's iffy.
Hopefully that 34 will turn into a measily 20 when it comes down to the wire.

5. The Rep. from LA, right?
He seemed like a moderate guy from an interview I saw on CNN a couple weeks ago.
