Why obama should ignore the GOP base and push for a vote today. |
|
1. The GOP "base" is mostly stupid. 2. The GOP "base" is mostly evil.
Just ignore them and go forward with a vote. Take names and plan for retribution for those opposing ANY reform and special actions for those opposing public option.

2. Steny Hoyer said it all |
|
He was on MSNBC and was telling the stupid woman commentator that they had reached across the aisle over and over and that the republicans do not want to vote for any bill. That all they want is for this administration to fail. He said (and didn't mention bush) the mess was inherited from the previous administration and that the democrats were working hard to clean it up. That since the very first the republicans had not voted for one bill to help the public. And every time he answered she would say "but do you think you have asked the republicans enough"..What in the devil did she expect the democrats to do..get on TV and on their knees and beg the obstructionist republicans to vote pretty pretty please.
No matter what they do no matter how they try the republicans are going to obstruct and try to stop them. They are not interested in the welfare of this country only what they can gain for themselves. Hoyer also said that they had picked up two house seats in the last election. That one was from the west coast and one from the east and that both are going to vote for the health bill. He was throwing up the fact that the republicans were using the fact that governors won and playing down we gained two house seats.
Republicans have been in control of the congress since 1994 to 2007 and if they had wanted to pass a health bill they could have, they didn't want to and that's that. But she would let up it was republican this and republican that. I never never never heard any of this kiss up to democrats when the republicans were in charge of the house under bush.
And now all next week they are going to have a series about republicans and how they are fighting back.

3. The Republicans have already made their position very clear. |
|
THEY WANT TO MAKE OBAMA LOOK BAD. And they will do whatever it takes to make that happen.
Didn't they actually come out and pretty much say that?
Obviously, they have no intention of being adults and taking their jobs seriously. It's time to stick them in the back of the room and get on with the important business of running the country.
Let them have their offensive Hate Rally, Hate Radio, and Propaganda TV. It's all they have, now.
