Ed Schultz goes off on Obama again |
|
He didn't like the fact that the President was in Wisconsin this afternoon talking about education the day after Democrats lost two governors races. He said the president's number one priority should be jobs, jobs, jobs, and getting the economy back on track. Interestingly, Sen. Rockefeller seemed to agree with Ed.
Has health care reform and other issues swallowed the jobs agenda?

37. You're absolutely correct. - Ed wants a desperately needed public option more than anyone I've yet |
|
seen...and he fights for the uninsured daily on his MSNBC TV show as well as his radio show....and the fact is he's fighting for you and me and others who can't afford the fucking insurance outrageous cost....Ed will NEVER need to use the public option he makes more than enough money....but he continues to fight for it for those who do need a public option which is most workers, unemployed and self-employed.

3. The White House economist made a mistake |
|
They thought this would top out at 8% and the agenda was set around that. They now have to figure out a balance with the old plan and incorporating job creation in all their messages.

Obama himself did say he expected unemployment to reach 10%. But that was after initial projections were changed after adjusting to a worse than expected Q4 GDP. It wasn't a mistake - just an adjustment.

Geithner himself predicted declines into the first quarter of 2010. How can you expect declines into 2010 and not expect unemployment to follow suit.
His economic team blew it.

Ed's just trying to light a fire under Obama because he, Ed, thinks Obama is not setting the table for victory on health care, jobs, or the next election. I think it's okay to put that out there.

5. I think the way Hartmann put it was pretty spot on during his show today - |
|
he thought that deep inside Obama is aligned with what needs to be done - he KNOWS what need to be done. The question is: does he have what it takes to drive the change (experience, guts, willingness to drop the bipartisan crap)....also, are the people around him enabling the change properly (Rahm, the finance bunch, his Dem leaders in the house and senate).
I realize it still hasn't been that long since his election. And I realize where we were for 8 years, and the disaster that McPalin would have been. But still - I do think it is crunch time, and enough is enough.

over Ed any day. He's incredibly informed in history and Constitutional issues, he's polite, he articulates well, and doesn't have to shout to get his point across. Ed is too much of a windbag for my tastes.

7. Ed should stick to sports. Complicated politics is over his head |
|
It's been obvious so many times to me that Ed tries to play the phony schtick where he's Mr. Grassroots or Mr. Populist Chest Beater... it's tiresome and usually ill-informed.
Nuance IS a basic factor in politics and those who can't take it should not be in politics or ACT like they are in politics.
Ed is happiest yakking about sports and he is entertaining in that regard. Trying to strong-arm his way into thinking he's a political animal is frankly delusional.
I've listened to him over the years and never make it all the way through an entire show. He shows his weakness as someone who clearly can read the bullet points handed to him by someone else, but his depth is thin.
Give me Thom Hartmann for my thick political soup... Mike Malloy for my political fireworks (although he strays into the weeds sometimes) and Stephanie Miller for my wacky funny view of the Repigs... Ed's show is boring to me.

I consider Schultz to be slightly complicated. I realize that you either have it or you don't. I'd have to say that Hartman, Rhodes and Malloy have "it." I often wonder if there's an undercurrent about Ed Schultz that is always slightly, just below the surface. There have been times when I wondered where his TRUE allegiance is. For example, is he yelling and screaming for dollars or just screeching about things he really does not have much knowledge about? When I listen to Ed it does not seem like he has a very firm grasp about what he is talking about. He was yelping about how a Democrat could lose in Virgina all day today. But he never explained that the said Democrat was against cap and trade, not so much for unions and was against a public option. Anyone that participates on the DU can tell you that's an automatic losing strategy with the Democratic Party. How could he be so lost on the issues? I think his general message is in the right place, but I often wonder where his heart is. Is it with the true liberal constituency, or $$$$$$$? Just asking. This post was meant to offend anybody.

|
...when it comes to his agenda so that Obama can exceed said expectations.
To me Obama has done a lot, while I would want him to do more he's done a ton...to match his current pace throughout this and another admin would be hard....
Don't know, there has to be a reason they're complaining is so void of facts and perspective
Eds "kick their ass" crap is starting to sound ill informed at the least.

his screaming reminded me of Rush. I would like to see any of the people that gripe about Obama including us here try and actually do his job...yes I don't think he is perfect but the job includes many areas not just one. I am sure to the people fighting for better schools think their issue is #1.
He has a fucking mess to clean up in every department. Would you want to be in charge of that? and try to get congress to get some balls at the same time knowing some of them still see him as a junior senator that doesn't know shit...or they are jealous that he bypassed the waiting till your turn unspoken rule.
I wonder how many of the senators aren't helping him pass shit because secretly they don't want him to go down in history??

he seems like a guy who needs a vacation because his job is starting to drive him crazy. He is naive about how the process works-he seems to think that Obama should just run the country the same way that Bush/ Cheney ran it. Tell the congress what they want and use any means necessary to get it. Look how well THAT worked out for the republicans Ed.
