Since not everyone lives in Virginia... the 3rd party anti-Deeds ads were beyond belief |

I wish everyone had seen these things because they set a strange standard for weirdness and audacity in negative campaigning.
Grainy footage is shown of Deeds being surrounded by reporters at some event.
He is asked a confusing question about taxes and says that he doesn't plan to raise taxes. Then he later says everything is on the table in a vague way. (Seemingly in answer to a different question?)
To my hearing he never says "raise taxes" in the clip, even to say he's against it.
Then the narrator says, "Did he just say raise taxes? Yes he did!"
Then the narrator says, "It gets worse..." without explaining how.
I have always been fascinated by the Big Lie. For some reason the cognitive dissonance of being lied to in an outrageous way ends up being more persuasive than a less obvious lie. The big lie causes the critical thinking centers to shut down in shock or something.
This formula will probably become popular in future campaigns. "Did she just say kill all the babies? Yes she did!"

1. Deeds himself was useless - said he'd "opt out" of a health care public option. |

Another CORPORATE blue-dog.
Yeah, I went and voted for him but I held my nose. :puke:

4. What good would that do? |

The Reagan/Bush Supreme Court would just rule in favor of the Rethugs.
