When the GOP starts spinning NY 23 |
|
just remember the official GOP candidate is now almost certain to lose a seat historically tied to the GOP. The hard right Club for Growth, anti choice, anti gay, science denying Conservative Party candidate, Hoffman, is NOT the GOP candidate. She ended her campaign but is still on the ballot.
If the GOP claims a win from Hoffman, it would be the equivalent of the DNC claiming a Green Party candidate winning the Miami seat being vacated by Wexler was a great victory for the Democratic Party.
Congratulations Steele for arranging yet another display of fail. You may as well hand those office keys over to Limpballs now. Your Party is dead. The only way it can be saved from a massive tug to far right irrelevance is if the Democratic Party candidate wins, either way Steele fails.

1. Your 2nd paragraph is right on, but I believe I heard Steele embrace Hoffman. I'll |
|
look for the link some more, but I don't see how this hurts them. If Hoffman wins, its a GOP seat.

It would be a Conservative Party seat, who may caucus with the GOP or may not. The GOP candidate withdrew from the race. The hard right have taken over and that road just leads to increasing levels of irrelevancy.
The GOP are having their candidates chopped and changed by the likes of Limpballs and all Steele can do is acquiesce.

6. Nonsense. That person ran against the GOP nominee. |
|
The fact that the nominee dropped out is irrelevant.

he is not the GOP candidate. If the GOP have to acquiesce and accept a candidate from another Party, on the say so of Limpballs and Quittin Palin, then they lose. Regardless of the outcome tonight.

3. The question will be whether Hoffman will become a Republican now. |
|
That's what I want to know. Will the conservative Republicans now flock to the so-called "Conservative Party," or will Hoffman become a Republican?
Just sayin'...

13. His "Conservative Party" |
|
is pretty irrelevant. Look at the last G/E. What this does show is the level of influence far right lobbyists like the Club for Growth has. The GOP is being dictated to by the hard right. A very simple and clear message is sent by what is happening in NY23.

the Palin brand is over. The hard right have thrown $millions at this tiny race. It is their takeover of the Republican Party. If it fails, she fails. The Democratic Party then faces the Party Steele would like to mould. Although the last Presidential candidate who promised compassionate Conservatism delivered only on the American Conservative brand and not very much on the compassion.
If it succeeds the GOP becomes the Party of the Club for Growth. That is why they spent so much.

18. If they do not carry this district |
|
with at least 66% of the vote, then it shows a breakdown in a very heavily Republican seat.
