17. You continue to fail. Candidate Obama raised more money than ANYONE, EVER. He has all the access he.

...needs to as much money as he could possibly want. Obama is set for the rest of his life... books, speaking engagements. He doesn't even need to win re-election if he doesn't want.

and Obama was wrong to agree to campaign for Specter. That said, to your question, no. And if Obama wanted access to the health insurance industry, I doubt he would need Lieberman for that . You can argue that Obama isn't doing enough to push forward a plan that would actually COMPETE with private insurance (mandates, etc..I think this is a valid point), but no, I don't think this was some evil plan for why we "kept" Joe.

I don't know about Obama, and I really don't want to believe that of him. How much have they funded his campaigns? I think Obama just doesn't like the risk factor, and he is ultimately focused on his reelection. Bipartisanship, or the appearance of it anyway, is his ticket, in his mind. Not sweeping change, not pleasing his base, and certainly not universal healthcare.

where he said something like "I know what you're thinking...what's a DEMOCRAT like me doing here?!" Ugh. I usually think Mike Barnicle is a douche, but he did make me laugh the other day on Morning Joe when he suddenly said "Not that it matters, but I am SO SICK of Joe Lieberman!"
