would jump the aile and caucus as an "independent" with the GOP? The man is nothing more than a smarthy opportunist who kisses the ass of big insurance. He would be out of our caucus in an instant and then call it "a decision from the conscience." The phony.

If he didn't provide the 51st vote, Republicans would probably tell him to fly up shit creek instead of making some of their members relinquish chairmanships to him.
Lieberman stayed with the Democrats in the 110th Congress where Republicans could have formed a majority with his vote, but that was a long time ago.
Lucky for us, it would be literally impossible for Republicans to retake a Senate majority in 2010.
