They are extremely stupid in the English argument. The first foreign languages spoken on the land now known as the USA were Spanish and French. English was maybe the third foreign language to come here and it became the main language because it was spoken by those that conquered/killed the other people and took their land (Just as Spanish is the main language of Mexico and the Caribbean). If we were going to speak the true American language we would all be speaking one of those spoken by the Original People perhaps like the Cherokee, Navajo, Cree and etc.

Just my own rantings on this dreary morning.

When you see a sign like that please ask them if they have had more money taken out of their employment check and then explain how next here when they pay their taxes, (it will be next year right?)they will receive a bigger refund or get a refund that they never got before.

They are seriously protesting for the benefit of 1% of the population.

Now for the logistics question.


Next April will the 1% have to pay more taxes or will it take another year for this tax roll back to produce actual results? Because if we do not get the influx of money by next April I think it is time we protested against that!

I can think of a few messages for their answering machine...

They view education as something bad. No wonder this country is the butt of jokes.

I work at a major university,with medical docs, PhDs, etc., and not a single one of them can spell correctly or write grammatically, and THEY are educated. Looks like those folks were "spelling like it sounds"! :0

but many, many people. I have graded hundreds of papers by college students and, even with the benefit of spell check, many of them manage to completely mangle the Egnlish language. Now emajine you our there grandparents who didn't do well in school and have not red a book in sixty years. Is you lerning?

Something like a quarter of all Americans don't even read a single book in any given year. Unused organs atrophy, and the brain's not excluded.

I teach Composition I and early in the semester I go over words that are commonly misspelled.

Use www.losenotloose.com and show your class the difference between the two words.

But I'm a homemaker currently. I just assume students know how to spell, and most of them do, but there are a few who rack up a lot of point deductions very quickly.

These people need hobbies instead of watching the Cable News/Talk Radio version of The Turner Diaries all day long.
