He literally never stopped pretending to be president, constantly complaining he was robbed of his rightful second term while plotting his restoration. And Garland's weak prosecutorial efforts only succeeded in keeping Trump in the public eye. Problem is Democrats don't have anyone willing to play the role of angry, aggrieved former leader.
