2. Is this supposed to surprise anyone

Anyone paying attention knows this.

And its sad, because this should be a good thing. AI taking over jobs that can be done by AI that people often find boring, allowing humans to do things they find meaning in. Heading us towards a post scarcity, smaller work week type situation. But instead it looks likely to be controlled by a few and benefit a few, and making life even worse for most.

I am curious what the cost breakdown would show for hiring a worker to do job x vs the real costs of AI, from development, to hardware, to electricity.
