2. Iodized salt is not required and is generally not used in fast food preps and other OTC foods -- only salt.

Falling to the pressure of corporations, in the US, the use of iodized salt in breads, cookies, cereals, etc., is voluntary, not mandatory. If iodized salt has been used when making the food, the ingredients on the label will say "iodized salt" rather than "salt."

When your dr says to reduce your salt intake bc of high blood pressure, check to see if your salt intake is iodized salt or salt.
