when their errors, terrors, and foibles are called out, they aren't playing the "long game" legally.

While someone like Trump and Patel are eyeing "fabulous gifts and prizes" by utilizing the legal system, either by a Final Judgment, or even a settlement, they seem to forget the Discovery phase of litigation.

IOW, you are now in the net of your adversary collecting evidence against you.

Subpoenas for legal documents. Depositions under Oath with penalty of Perjury. Your underlings who have resented you from Day One will enjoy this especially.

Undisputed facts that not only weaken your case against your adversary, but revelation that could be revealed to the Public, which is something you really don't want.

And of course, before the first Subpoena is sent, Trump will fire you before all that hidden information is revealed.
