He was already laying the ground work for not releasing the files. Anything that portrays him in a bad light is fake, or phony.
The hesitation before he said "yes" is another tell that he wasn't intending to follow through on what he just said he'd do. He couldn't say no, so he had to think a couple seconds about how he'd spin it. But it hasn't go away, and it's not gonna get covered up. The truth will out.

The shit is about to hit the fan, and Trump's gonna come out of this very dirty indeed.
