Older locals in Vietnam still recall the damage done by the American invaders during the Vietnam war, and older Europeans still hate Germany for WW2.

America came to the rescue of Europe during WW2 and declared themselves the Good Guys.
But that title wore out a long time ago.

Iran and the rest of the Middle East will long remember the current actions of both America and Israel.

Are you offended when Iranians shout 'Death to America'?
I can understand both why they shout that, and why you may be offended.
