(58,785 posts)don't like it when the incumbents are chosen by their local constituents and the primarying attempt is by outside extremist groups funded by outside money.
That's misuse of democracy to subvert democracy and bad in itself. But since their candidates are usually not representative of local majorities, they, of course, tend to depend heavily on smear campaigns against the incumbents, and usually dishonesty about who their candidate is as well.
It's not just a big moral thing, Tarc, but a will of the people thing.
As for this, get rid of the outside money and I'll be happy to let local voters decide to keep or kick her out. Their choice. Big money donations from special interests used to bury competition under mud is how Mitch McConnell's been getting reelected for over 30 years, though, and it'd be no more okay for Omar than for him.
