Democratic Primaries

Because the presidential race isn't the only one on the ballot. Every state has races at the federal, state and local level that need to pick candidates for the November ballot.

Now, granted, some primary races are mere formalities, like the one in my Congressional district. There was never any doubt that Joaquin Castro would become the Democratic candidate, and there's no doubt he will win in November. But races elsewhere have competitive primaries and then will have tough races in November. And those still need to get decided.
