true progressive pastafarians understand that they shouldn't take the FSM literally and that there are ways to interpret it through the context of history and culture.

The FSM did not just appear a few years ago, he has been here since before the dawn of time. Less modern people saw him as Cthulhu. Today we see him through a semolina lens.
