I shared this because what O'MAlley said really resonated with me.

STEM is fine, it is good and it is important. It should not come at the cost of cutting funding for the arts.

We need MORE arts for a better balanced nation of educated people.

ETA:

I know that anyone on DU can read this, but I know that our fellow MO'M supporters will read this. I trust the people that have come into this group, I Trust that they are welcoming, engaged willing to debate without being disparaging.
