the collection of interest groups outlook of the Democratic Party was well outlined some 30 years ago by Newt Gingrich and the GOPer FR. Should some Democrat step out of line and invoke FDR or even LBJ, the GOPer would dog-whistle "class warfare!" and Democrats would return to that corner of the box they seem most comfortable with.

The GOP was there long ago.
