My own mixed ancestry is pre-Melungeon, that is "free mulattoes" from eastern NC that include family lines like Bunches and Collinses who later migrated to Appalachia. But I live in Appalachia now, and am familiar with Warren Wilson College, and would encourage anyone interested in either Appalachian history or Melungeons to attend this event. There are very few opportunities for descendants of these "almost white" communities to celebrate their heritage.
