The "child endangering" began when the child was taught that a gun was the solution for "being picked on." He was fully prepared to stand his ground.


And a child doesn't necessarily need to be taught outright. A child learns most behavior by what they see and their interpretation of it. If the adult has a gun for protection from the bad guys, guess how the child will interpret that among peers? It doesn't really matter what the adult says as much as what they do.
