Was he the first choice of most elected repubs? Absolutely not. Maybe not even the tenth choice.

But he got more votes than all of the repub candidates for House combined. They will all be standing for re-election in two years. Any one of them that goes after Trump will face a primary opponent.

They will not rock the boat.
