If enough of the electors can change their vote from him and aid in overturning his presidency - then he would have no power position from which to threaten them.

It's simply a numbers game. The more that change their vote the better. Even if he tries something - he's not going to be able to do anything to 306 electors or to 37 of them to take him down below 270.
