Both as a Buddhist and as someone with mental health issues.

Like you, I wonder what if...what if he had been helped when he showed violent reactions before? What if he had been able to get the meds he needed, the counseling he needed, what if...

It is just horribly sad in every way and for all involved.

That he was a Buddhist is less important than that he was a human. That is all that matters.
