It's disconcerting when you live alone and then you go to visit friends. [View all]

My usual morning routine includes waking up alone, making coffee alone, getting ready for work alone. And I have no problem with it. It's quiet and predictable.

At my friends' home, it's all of the above, but now I'm talking to people. Again, I have no problem with it. It's just . . . different. No routine. No solitary mornings.

I'm home now and I welcome the solitude.
