1) The west has harbored antisemites and racists, and their ideologies have continued and infiltrated many parts of our society. Blaming the Jews is an old trope.

2) Throughout our history, Jews have been allowed or accepted someplace for a time, only to be expelled or displaced, attacked or exterminated eventually.

We are living in interesting times!
