Nazis were very much into the occult. These are just modern day nazis, taking their cues from their shared evil history. I do think, however, that as much or more than the occult, modern psychology plays a large role in their methods. So much has been written on chaos theory in the modern world and the impact it has on our brains... and then add in the still-in-use subliminal messaging and stochastic terrorism... and the weak brained are simply willing dupes.

I do abhor how symbols of protection and power are being usurped for evil, but I guess it is to be expected. The "father of lies" as they call him, is well known for twisting truth into lies, thus ensnaring the weak minded. T has this concept down to rights... a small hint of a truth and then twisted into something totally false. Yet, the weak minded can't separate the kernal of truth from the lie, so they fall for the whole thing.

Hmmm... postmodern Rasputin? I nominate Bannon...!
