giving and receiving [View all]

Last week I gave away my old tires to a young man. The summers were bald, but will be fine as swings and may have some other value somewhere. The studded winters are still good for a year or two, but my mechanic was bought out by a tire place that refused to pass them on inspection in order to make me to buy new. In my poorer, school days when I was desperate for cash, I would have sold them. Now I'm above water enough to let them go with gratitude

Yesterday I mentioned to a nice co-worker that even though I watch very little teevee, I miss it. My little 2 year old, digital one got fried a couple weeks ago in a weird power surge. Turns out her parents just bought a new teevee. She said they get new ones every couple years, so is going to see if they've given away their "old" one yet. I may be given a replacement digital one of the same age and somewhat larger I'm nearly crying at the thought. I miss the few PBS programs I watched. Sometimes it helps me to unwind and sleep...
