Ok, my turn: job interview tomorrow! [View all]
Could use some mo, please
It's the phone interview portion (step 1) for a project mgmt gig at a small insurance company.
In-person's are Thurs/Fri and then a 'formality' meeting with the CIO early next week.
I realized - and have kicked myself in the ass daily - that I should have JUMPED on that job offer that I had in April and didn't take.
Exciting? No, not particularly, but it's what I know how to do, and what I do well. And it would have gotten me the hell out of here!
So, this gig is the same type of thing which will probably bore me silly in a year but I need to buy time to come up with a long-term plan to relocate which includes exploring where I want to go, saving dough, and looking into other career options.
This contracting gig isn't cutting it - I know absolutely nothing about app dev/dba (and told him so in the interview!) and am not wired for it. I'm much more a project/organizing/interacting type of person and the thought of learning this code-shit drives me nuts.
I have literally spent 35 of 40 hours every week for the last 8 months surfing the web here. Nothing else I can do. Not a human being around (except for the Tea Party nutbag who sits slurping his coffee and moaning/grunting all day with his smelly bare feet emananting from the cube next door).
So, yeah. I could use some mo. Thanks!
