that I picked up Marvin Harrison in the middle of the season when another WR went out with a season-ending injury. I was either 2-3 or 3-3 at the time of the trade. The manager of the league was also looking at picking him up, but in a sense of fairness let me have him since I hadn't made any trades that season and he already made several. He had some interest in keeping me involved in the league since he needed someone that could knock off other teams during the season and my earlier losses were by only a few points. It was Harrison's rookie year in 1996 so he was an unknown during the actual draft.

For the Fantasy Bowl, the roster of players was determined by default. We played 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs and a kicker, so we were filling 7 slots with 12 players on each owners roster. Warren Moon and three other players were out due to injuries and it was past the deadline to make trades, so the only decision that I had to make was which 3 of the 4 WRs would I play. That was narrowed down because I knew that one of the WR's actual team had clinched the conference the previous week and would be resting their players. I can't remember the rest of my lineup other than my kicker was one of the biggest chokers in the NFL at the end of the game--Al Del Greco. However, he actually performed pretty well for me through the season because Houston couldn't punch it in for a TD when they were in the red zone.

The next few seasons that I played the guys kept rubbing it in by saying that I'd pick Warren Moon and Del Greco early in the draft. Like I wrote earlier, it's easy to pick a team with a lot superstars but Lady Luck usually plays a big part in taking home the grand prize.

I'm glad that you enjoyed my earlier post and once again, good luck this season.
