4. I've had some males around, but the females are pretty vicious about protecting her nest when there's young 'uns

So they mostly come around and to the windowsill more or less in the evening or early morning. They will be more frequent visitors after the babies have fledged I think usually the male is the first one I see in the spring. It really is dazzling when they stretch out their neck and flash that ruby throat reflection into the sun. Here is a male from last year.
