The tradition in America is you use a gun to get the drop on a guy and make him do something he doesn’t want to do. That’s what permeates a our culture If the person doesn’t bend to your will, you kill them. A lot of people don’t really desire gun for self protection. They think of it as personal power. “Be the boss. Teach them a lesson. Get back at them.” All as American as apple pie
