After a long dry spell I just wrote a short story [View all]

I used to write poetry, occasionally short stories. I hadn't felt like writing for a long time after my husband passed away. I keep a dream journal, but don't write in that unless the dream details stick with me while the coffee is brewing. I sorted out my poetry and other writing last fall, and realized I hadn't written anything for a long time, wondered if I was done.

I got an idea this week, and thought about it all week. My husband's birthday is tomorrow, and I thought if I were going to write this idea into a story, I wanted to do it today. I think it worked out. At least there is a beginning, a middle and an end, and I think it sticks to the point.

I don't know if I'll share the story, but I'm glad I got it written.
