It's a James Patterson and Adam Hamdy. It's a continuation of the Private series featuring jack Morgan who owns the world's largest private detective agency. Morgan is in Rome at a launch party when a priest is murdered there. The man Morgan hired to run the Rome office is the prime suspect and Morgan believes him to be innocent. During his investigation be becomes involved with officials in the Vatican, the local Mafia, and a secret criminal organization.

IMO, it's one of his better books in the last few years.
