        Keep in mind, that is the second book of a series, after Wolf Hall. That one shows how the relationship between Cromwell and Henry came to be, as well as all Cromwell's influences.  I'm thinking one could enjoy the second without the first, though. It does double back a good bit.

        I did the whole Spenser series some years ago. The franchise was passed on after Parker died.
