12. The firing mechanism (which is what the "smart" part of smart guns controls) worked reliably.

This would have happened with a smart gun because what happened would have happened regardless of the firing mechanism. Because it wasn't related to the firing mechanism.

Hot-loaded ammo, wrong ammo, and/or bad metallurgy makes guns explode.


Honestly I thought this post was going to be about the attempted mass shooting a few days ago when the guy's gun repeatedly jammed.
