I remember that fire well and the devastating impact that it had on the Worcester community.

The only other fire I can think of that had such a devastating effect on the brotherhood of firefighters was the Luongo Fire in East Boston in 1942 which also took the lives of 6 firefighters,

The Maverick Square fire has been forgotten over time, because just 2 weeks later was the Coconut Grove Fire in the Film district of Boston which took the lives of 492 patrons.
