I've used the same phrase to describe our male Siamese mix. He eats like a dog - so fast I wonder if he tastes it.

We have to feed the 4 cats in different places where we can shut doors or the "vacuum cat" who be done with his in no time and then go on to everyone else's dishes.

I'm occasionally tempted to create a scenario like the one in your picture to see if he has a satiation point, or would he eat until he puked. I suspect the latter.
