My stepson grew up on Szechwan noodles when he was over at our place. It was cheap and we called it "Peanut Butter Spaghetti .He later decided that it was the epitome of home cooking and requested the recipe to make for dates. There was no sesame paste available at that time, so peanut butter was the acceptable substitute,, with ground toasted sesame seeds added..

Unfortunately, his oldest offspring is highly allergic to peanuts and tree nuts, so I guess the tradition dies here.
