1. Sounds relatively easy to veganize as well

There are some pretty decent vegan substitutes out there these days in terms of vegan butter, vegan cream cheese, vegan salted caramel and vegan chocolate (mostly owing to the magic of cashews and other nuts). It looks like the pistachio paste is vegan anyway.

You would have to make the kunafa from scratch. But I figure if you were going to all this trouble that’s just one more step .

I am mostly vegan, but as a one-off I considered trying it to see what all the fuss was about. However. after I saw this editorial by a writer I like called Alex Skopic I decided to skip it:
