More relevations about my grandfather from more than a century ago. [View all]

Strictly via www.newspapers.com

I discovered that in 1906, his home was burgled.

The next year, his store was robbed by a member of "The Black Hand".

The year thereafter, he filed for bankruptcy.

Prior discoveries included he registered to marry two women within four years (1900 and 1904), marrying the latter, my grandmother and jilting the former. She later sued him for breach of promise (to marry) as by being jilted, she was "damaged goods" and unlikely to find a husband.
