(50,130 posts)Nearly all of my lines landed in the New World in the 1600s. Most of them settled in Connecticut in that century. During the Revolutionary War, some of my father's lines were loyal to the crown and fled to Canada, losing everything they owned. One of them was at risk of execution, and was nailed into a wooden crate and spirited across enemy lines and north. My mother's lines all were patriots, and fought the Brits.
