I was fairly active, and five years ago when everything was closed up, I noticed within a few weeks that I felt like crap. My back hurt, and my knees.

I took my dog to run every morning, and spent 40 minutes walking up and down the stairs in our building. But the rest of the day I pretty much sat at my desk because there was nowhere to go and nothing was open.

I forget what, but I read something similar to your post and started setting a 20 minute timer every time I sat down. It's about a 200 step round trip from my office to the kitchen so I did 4 laps around my apartment meandering around the furniture. In a few days I was shocked how much better I felt. So I have kept that up.

When I travel and work out in the field, I do the same. Get up and walk around at a minimum.
