13. mRNA vaccines (all but J&J, pretty much) give 91%-92% protection against getting sick from Covid

Among the remaining 8-9%, most will have mild cases of the disease. A vanishingly small number will have severe cases.

No vaccine is 100%. I don't develop measles antibodies to the MMR and I was a smallpox "non taker." It happens.

I hate articles like this one that bury the lede, that the vaccines offer outstanding protection to a vast majority of people, under a lot of crap about the tiny and unfortunate minority who got sick and the tinier minority of them who died. You know, "look what happens to people who get this vaccine! They get sick and DIE!" Clearly, this is not helpful and I wish they'd stop.

I'm pretty sure this vaccine is "taking." The first shot reminded me of just how ill I was in March 2020. That's a good thing, I don't want it again. I'll get that second shot.
